Polbar Chicken

     The Polbar is a breed of Chickens, which originated in Poland. It was developed by crossing American Plymouth Rock cocks with Polish Green-Legged Partridge hens. The Polbar is an auto-sexing barred chicken breed, meaning that male and female chicks will hatch in different colors. Female chicks can be distinguished from males at one-day old by the longer black eye-stripe.

     The Polbar is a dual-purpose chicken breed known with producing meat and eggs of excellent flavor. They show general resistance to diseases, and good performance in poor environmental conditions.

     Polbars come in a single-color variety, in which cocks are creamy white, and hens are greyish-brown in color. They have single combs, red earlobes and grayish-yellow legs. Polbar hens are also good layers of creamy eggs (160 eggs per year), but they don’t tend to go broody.
