Hungarian Chicken

     The Hungarian is a medium-sized breed of Chickens from Hungary. It’s a duel-purpose bird, which is being raised for both meat and eggs. Hungarian chickens’ meat is delicious, has an excellent flavor, and is valued in both local and foreign markets.

     The Hungarian is characterized by its broad and full breast, overgrown slinky tail feathers and plumage, and its whitish-yellow legs. It has also large single comb and wattles, and red earlobes. The Hungarian is an active bird, good forager and adapts well to the surrounding environment.

     Hungarian hens are fair layers (around 140 – 150 eggs per year with a color varies from cream to brown, according to the color of the laying hen), and they occasionally go broody too. The bird also comes in several color-varieties which include; white, cuckoo, yellow and partridge.
