Coucou de Rennes Chicken
The Coucou de Rennes is a Chicken breed, that was developed at the end of the 19th century in France. It’s a sturdy medium-sized bird with a single comb, red earlobes, and whitish-yellow legs.
The Coucou de Rennes is a rustic and vigorous chicken, that is suited to both hot and cold climates. It’s a dual-purpose bird that yields a high-quality meat indeed. Coucou de Rennes hens lay plenty of brown eggs (around 150 – 180 eggs of weight 60 g per each), and they are good broodies as well.
The Coucou de Rennes is a relatively unsociable bird, and ideally needs plenty of space. It only comes in the dark cuckoo color-variety, though cocks are genetically clearer.
