Modern Game Chicken

The Modern Game is a striking breed of Chickens, that got developed in the United Kingfom. They actually resulted from breeding Malays with Old English Games. Modern Games are neither good egg layers, nor valued for meat production. In fact, they are almost kept by competitive breeders for ornamental purposes only.

Modern Games are very tall birds, that have a body shaped like a flat iron when seen from above. The bird has a relatively short back, fine tail, hard feathering, and a very upright carriage. Modern Game hens lay around (50 80) tinted white eggs per year, and they tend to go broody and make good mothers.

The Modern Game appears in a lot of color-varieties that include; white, splash, red pyle, black-breasted red, birchen, silver-duckwing and golden-duckwing. It has a single comb, red earlobes and mostly slate-blue legs. A bantam version is also available for the Modern Game, and is more popular than its counterpart large fowl.
